I've needed a new pair of reading glasses for a while now, and you'd think with the amount of reading I do, this would have been a priority purchase. I'm not after all, skimping on any other areas of my life. (Except for a cold pack for my rotator cuff, but that's another story.) Finally, the solution presented itself: 39dollarglasses.com. They charge $25 for anti-reflective coating, and I upgraded on the case, to an aluminum flip-top (see? there's always money for stuff I don't need), bringing the total to about $70.
And I've learned something new--in New York and Massachusetts, you're not allowed to have a friend measure the distance between your pupils. There's actually an asterisk on the website where it says "have a friend" that tells me I must have a licensed optometrist measure me. Here we go, Homeland Security, I measured my own PD and filled it in. Come and get me.
