Women of the Washington City Paper--Liz Eckstein, employee extraordinaire on the right, stopped by Brooklyn on her way to Boulder. Liz Maestri, employee extraordinaire on the left, joined us and another ex-receptionist (we're everywhere, you can run, but you cannot hide) Chad Molter, who took the picture. I'm not complaining, but I have to defend myself, the Lizes are exceptionally small women.

Last week, I was in beautiful Maine, spending two days each with my friends from Bean's, Patrick and Lorna. My friend Karen is going to a world food exhibition in Paris this fall, but I can't imagine it could be any better than the grocery stores in Maine. Forget Freeport, forget LL Bean, I could have wandered those aisles for a week. There's even a product that's not made any more, Kraft Grated American Cheese Food, which will have some of you who remember the old cheese popcorn I used to make salivating.

George Takai, Sulu from the original "Star Trek", got married to his boyfriend recently. Or as Lorna said, "Did you hear that guy from Spock got married?"
