I guess in the last post, I should have said that like every valet in Hollywood, I have a screenplay, not the grandiose, "Ich bin screenschreiber".

So, the Lowbrow went to a dance performance, "Edward Scissorhands", at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. I read an article about Matthew Bourne, the choreographer, in The New Yorker (quite the good magazine, have other people heard of it?) and thought my Aunt Lois likes dance, so I might, and if this one isn't accessible to me, none will be. And I quite liked it. My mind did wander from time to time to 'what am I going to eat later?' (this happens at 95% of the performances I attend) and 'I wonder who's getting kicked off "America's Next Top Model", hope it's not the loony Russian mail-order bride', but I enjoyed it more than I expected. It was witty, surprising in the way it represented, for example, Edward's topiary work, and of course, the way dancers can control their bodies always boggles. Especially to the Lowbrow, who yesterday ordered a serving tray because Andy agreed with my assessment that it could make the difference between life and death for me in an apartment with a staircase.

The Econo-miser would also like to weigh in on the show. This has happened to me twice now--I bought a balcony seat, the cheapest one (surprise!!) but the mezzanine didn't sell out, so they moved me down for free. The other occasion was a Broadway show, "Journey's End", which I therfore wound up seeing for $36, less than TKTS. Your tip for the day.
